YouTube is testing a new feature on its mobile app that allows you to zoom in on videos.
This feature works in full-screen portrait and landscape mode.
According to the company, the zoom feature will remain in testing until September 1, giving the company about a month to collect user feedback and optimize the feature before it is rolled out more widely.
To enable the feature, you must go to the YouTube settings menu either on the phone or through the website, where it will be located in the “Experience new features” section for YouTube Premium users.
This feature gives the ability to enlarge the video up to eight times 8x.
There are already ways to enlarge YouTube content through various accessibility functions across Android and iOS, and it is very easy to do it in a desktop browser.
However, having it as an optional native feature in the mobile app is much more convenient.
Last month, YouTube introduced Picture-in-Picture mode for iPhone and iPad after testing it for the first time among premium customers; This very useful feature has been available for a long time on Android.
