Xbox TV app enables cloud gaming on smart TVs this June

Later this month, Microsoft will finally release its new Xbox TV app. The software will allow customers to play cloud games on their smart TVs without needing to purchase a console or other gear.

At launch, it will work with Samsung's 2022 smart TVs and monitors in 27 countries.

Cloud gaming, which was previously only available on a few Android smartphones and tablets, will now be available on large-screen devices as well.

Users with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate memberships will be able to access a list of titles through the Xbox TV app.

There are more than 100 playable game titles, according to Microsoft, including Forza, Sea of Thieves, and the Halo franchise.

Game streaming will be limited to 1080p quality and 60 frames per second.

According to the business, the cloud hardware is powered by bespoke Xbox Series X technology.

With the unveiling of the Xbox TV app comes the expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming to new nations.

As a result, nations like Argentina and New Zealand may now stream games using the Xbox browser.
