Samsung has officially announced its new foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold4, which focuses on better ergonomics, more productivity features, and noticeable camera improvements.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 Specifications

When folded, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 has precisely the same width as its predecessor, the Z Fold3, measuring exactly 67.1 millimeters even though it is 3.1 millimeters shorter overall.

On the other hand, Samsung was able to increase the size of the cover screen by 2.7 millimeters thanks to the reduced bezels, which resulted in a more appropriate aspect ratio of 23:9.
However, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is typically more compact than its predecessor, while having screens that are bigger.

When open, the phone is 2 millimeters bigger, but the manufacturer was able to incorporate a screen that is 3.1 millimeters broad thanks to the bezel technology.

The gadget is also 8 grams lighter at 263 grams and measures 6.3 millimeters narrower when open and 15.8 millimeters when closed (compared to 6.4 millimeters and 16 millimeters).
When fully expanded, the screen has a diagonal of 7.6 inches, however the aspect ratio has changed to 6:5.

This display features an adjustable refresh rate of 120Hz and a usual brightness of 1000 nits. Additionally, the region directly above the bottom display has a greater pixel density, which makes it less noticeable.
The cover screen and the back panel are both now covered by Gorilla Glass Victus+, and the phone has been given an IPX8 rating for its resistance to water. The inner screen frame is built of Armor Aluminum (it can be submerged in 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes).

The triple camera setup on the back of the phone is inherited from the Galaxy S22 and S22+. The main camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels and a larger sensor that can gather 23 percent more light. Other camera improvements include support for optical image stabilization and electronic image stabilization.

The second camera is a 10 megapixel telephoto lens that has an optical zoom of three times and a digital zoom that can go up to thirty times further than the optical zoom.

While the camera on the cover screen is a 10MP unit (f/2.2), the bottom camera still depends on binning to generate 4MP (f/1.8) photographs. The third camera has a very high resolution of 12MP, while the other two cameras have lesser resolutions.

Because of its folding design, the camera can take use of several innovative shooting modes. For instance, as you zoom in, you'll see a “zoom map” on the screen, which will make it much simpler for you to compose your photo.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is equipped with a very effective and powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU, which is combined with 12 gigabytes of RAM.

You may choose between 256GB and 512GB of storage, and an option for 1TB is also available in some locations and only through Samsung.com.

The battery has the same capacity as it did before, which is 4400 mAh, and the charging capacity is the same, which is 25 watts; however, it is actually faster than the model from the previous year because it only takes 30 minutes to charge the battery from 0% to 50%, and it also supports wireless charging with a capacity of 15 Watts.

Together with its business partners and on its own, Samsung has significantly enhanced the user experience of its software products. You now have rapid access to your most used applications, recent apps, and app groups through a taskbar that resembles a PC and is located at the bottom of the screen (similar to DeX).

For instance, Facebook and Messenger may be browsed concurrently on the same screen (or even three or more apps at the same time).

The Facebook app itself has also been adapted for the 7.6-inch screen, and it will now display the complete timeline in addition to the menu options.

YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, and Microsoft Teams are just some of the streaming services that have been enhanced to take use of the foldable format.

Some programs, such as the big indoor screen, for example Microsoft Outlook, Office, and Teams, in addition to Google Meet, offer functionality that is similar to that of a tablet.

There is a mode on the phone called Flex Mode, which allows you to fold it in half and use it in a manner that is analogous to a laptop.

This props up the camera so that it may be used to make video calls without the requirement of a tripod (although there is a case with a built in kickstand).

The Flex Mode TouchPad transforms the lower half of the screen into a touchpad and shortcut bar, and applications that do not natively support Flex Mode will instead take advantage of the Flex Mode TouchPad.

The Fold 4 ships with One UI 4.1.1, which is based on Android 12L. It also includes additional software adjustments that are designed to enhance the user's ability to switch between open apps.

The taskbar has been relocated from the side of the screen to the bottom of the screen. Additionally, there is a new touchpad option available in Flexible Mode. This feature provides you with a little cursor that you can move about the top half of the screen like you would on a small laptop.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 will soon have its pricing announced, and it will begin at a beginning price of $ 1800 for the 12/256 GB version, with the 12/512 GB version having a price of $ 1986.
