Rumours has it that Samsung has finalised prices for the Galaxy S22 series in Europe. It will be priced similarly to previous models, with the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ costing the same as last year's models. The Galaxy S22 is 50€ cheaper than the Galaxy S21 and has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Roland Quandt, a highly reputable source, states that Samsung has finally settled on European prices for the Galaxy S22 series. It will reportedly cost between €849 and €1,449, depending on the model picked. The Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra will cost €1,049 and €1,249 respectively. These prices may vary according to the specs.
- Galaxy S22 (8 GB/128 GB): €849
- Galaxy S22 (8 GB/256 GB): €899
- Galaxy S22+ (8 GB/128 GB): €1,049
- Galaxy S22+ (8 GB/256 GB): €1,099
- Galaxy S22 Ultra (8 GB/128 GB): €1,249
- Galaxy S22 Ultra (12 GB/256 GB): €1,349
- Galaxy S22 Ultra (12 GB/512 GB): €1,449
Unlike the Galaxy S21 series, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ will not be available with a 512 GB storage capacity. Samsung is releasing the Galaxy S22 with two device options for storage, but they will be different enough that people will not want to make the purchase. One of the devices only has 256 GB of storage and no microSD card reader, but it will have 12 GB of RAM.
In short, nothing will change from last year's models price-wise. The Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ both retailed at prices of up to $750 which is equivalent to their counterparts, the Galaxy S10 and Samsung Galaxy S10+. The cheapest model in this generation of Samsung phones is the Ultra which has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard. the standard iPhone 8 will be €50 cheaper than the equivalent Galaxy S21 Ultra. One point of contention for Quandt is that the new 2019 Samsung Ultra models have slightly more expensive configurations this time around. Samsung likely did this in order to get away from the 12GB of RAM that was included last year.
Moreover, Quandt has not mentioned the rumours of the Galaxy S22's speculated 16 GB of RAM configuration. All models (except for US and China) will come with Europe's exclusive Exynos 2200 chip: Samsung's brand new 4 nm chip. These new chips aim to offer better battery life and more efficiency than their predecessors.
