Joker director Todd Phillips has announced the slated release date for the 2019 Oscar-winning sequel.
According to the director, the second part will be shown for the first time on October 4, 2024.
The film will continue to star Joaquin Phoenix, who won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the first film, and American singer Lady Gaga will also join the cast.
While it has not yet been revealed who will play Gaga, but the possible role is Harley Quinn, Joker's long-time partner, Harley Quinn.
It is rumored that the film will include more musical elements, which makes Gaga a logical fit.
The director himself had previously shared that the sequel would be called Joker: Folie à Deux, which literally translates to “madness for two.”
Although Joker was originally intended as an independent film, its success at the box office and Academy Awards (it received 11 nominations, including Best Picture) made a sequel fitting.
